“ | More precise than an SMG, with the stopping power of a small shotgun, the BRT (or "Burt", as it's sometimes called) is highly prized among collectors and connoisseurs alike. |
— Item Description |
The BRT7 Burst Fire Gun (also known as the "BRT") is an unlockable secondary weapon for the Gunner. It is a handgun with a long barrel and a slender profile. The weapon's magazines are stored internally, and the port is accessed by pulling the knob above the weapon's handle to reveal it.
The BRT fires three bullets in a rapid burst with one pull of the trigger. One burst of bullets all follow the same spread pattern, though rapid fire with the weapon will cause bursts to fly in random directions. At base level, eight bursts can be fired before needing to reload.
Modifications
There are five tiers of modifications and each tier has two to three upgrades. Only one modification can be equipped per tier.

"Meticulous sealing lets you get a bit more power out of each round and the attention to detail improves how easily the magazine slots in." | ||

"You can carry even more ammo but the rate of fire needs to be toned back to avoid a jam and please take more care while reloading." | ||

"A new shape to the bullet delivers a lot more damage but it's odd size means fewer rounds in the clip and a bit less ammo overall." | ||
Electro Minelets

"After impacting terrain, these high-tech bullets convert in to electro-minelets that will electrocute anything unfortunate enough to come close. However they don't last forever and the rounds themselves take more space in the clip and deal less direct damage." | ||
Micro Flechettes

"Convert the BRT to fire small flechettes instead of slugs. Increases overall ammo and magazine size as well as reducing recoil but at the cost of raw damage." | ||

"It ain't pretty but this overclock will tear apart anything that gets close, though it gets a bit iffy at range." |
Stats Breakdown
Understanding the Weapon
Unlike non burst weapons, the RoF stat shown for the BRT7 does not actually represent the amount of bullets the weapon is able to fire in 1 second. Instead the actual RoF is influenced by the following stats:
- Burst Size is how many shots are fired in a burst.
- Rate of Fire is the time interval between the last shot in a burst and the first shot in the next burst. Higher is faster.
- Burst Speed is the time interval between shots within a burst. Lower is faster.
To calculate the effective RoF use the following formula, or see the table below:
- Effective RoF (per second) = [ Burst Size ] / ( 1 / [ RoF ] + ( [ Burst Size ] - 1 ) x [ Burst Speed ] )
Effective Rate of Fire (per second) |
2 RoF | 3 Rof | 4 RoF | 5 RoF | 6 RoF |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
3 Burst Size | ~4.54 | ~6.08 | ~7.31 | ~8.33 | ~9.18 |
6 Burst Size | 7.50 | ~9.47 | 10.90 | 12.00 | ~12.85 |

![]() ![]() Electro Minelets |
Electro Minelets is an Unstable Overclock that causes each bullet which impacts a surface to automatically turn into a Minelet after 0.1s, arming for detonation after 0.8s.
If a creature goes within 1.1m of a Minelet it will trigger, electrocuting all creatures within a radius. Minelets automatically trigger if they reach the end of their 5 second lifetime, and each Minelet can only trigger once. Equipping the Blowthrough Rounds modification allows the player to shoot through a creature to hit a surface, damaging the creature while also creating a Minelet. |

Trivia
- The weapon's full ammo interaction consists of the Gunner tossing it into the air, where it spins once vertically before falling back into his hand. This animation is also present with the Driller's Experimental Plasma Charger and the Scout's Grappling Hook.
- When the 7 in "BRT7" is interpreted as a second T, it can be read as "BRTT". This is an onomatopoeia of the weapon's firing sound.
