Arguably Theory 1 is not refuted by the line "That guy at mission control; he really has a cozy job!". This line could be interpreted to say that they don't know the name of the person who works at mission control, and thus is a non answer to the Karl Question / ???

I don't know what you are talking about, if they don't know the name of the person at Mission Control then the guy at Mission Control is obviously not Karl. The theory is more popular than one might think and that line directly refutes it. I'm not sure what you are trying to say as you are contradicting yourself. Do you mean that there might be someone else at Mission Control that we've never seen nor heard that might be Karl? (which is not a common theory so it shouldn't be covered anyway) / Baraklava
