EXP to PP Calculation

Here's all the data I've gathered so far. No matter how I calculate things, I have wild outliers (Full Keep (no secondary), Imperfect Hate, and Karl’s Split are the worst). And no, they aren't data entry errors. I have all the screenshots, I checked (and found! one such error). Note that PP from other sources, such as the flat 1250 for a data cell or from completing a challenge are *not* included in this calculation.

PP from a loss is even trickier to pin down, and I don't think it's due to not enough data points (Open Delight and Bad Thunder are notable; in both I found an error cube, which accounts for some 4000 minerals mined, completely throwing off all the calculations, but aren't even outliers under the sqrt method; look at Loaded Trench and True Unfortune! What the heck!).

The "Linear-ish" formula is what I noted on the article page as it seemed pretty consistent: any time I ran the same mission multiple times and had only minerals and kill differences, it looked linear. But I could never pin down how primary and secondary factored in. The sqrt column I figured out by accident where I went "it can't be just the square root of everything" and inadvertently included the actual PP in the calculation. But it was within 1% on every row. I replaced the accidental "+L" with "lets just sum and square root a second time, because that's basically what that final value I'm looking for works out to" and voila. Standard Deviation of 2.6% for non-double, non-loss runs. Ignoring the three egregious outliers the standard deviation comes down to 1.8%, well within the "there's probably some random amount added" (and pretty close to +/-30).

I'm pretty sure the sqrt method is very very close to what's actually used and all I can figure is that there's some hidden stat that grants or deducts some PP, but if so I would expect to see *more* outliers than I am. Specifically because I saw Imperfect Hate being so bad that I *specifically reproduced it* running Full Keep three times and intentionally making variations (such as being knocked down) and the run that threw an outlier? The "get no secondary sources of exp." But the outlier effect *only* happens on 950-base exp missions and *only* at Hazard 2; it's too specific to be an edge case the game cares about.

I'd love to see some more data. Draco18s (talk) 05:32, 25 November 2021 (UTC)

Season 3 Scrip count

Is there any indication where the last 5 scrip for Season 3's performance pass/ cosmetic tree are acquired from?

We know that 91 are required for all items in the tree and the page currently lists 15 from Plaguehearts and 8 from Lithophage Outbreak warnings, but when you add this to the 63 gained from reaching pass level 100 that only gives us 86 scrip.

Do we know for certain that it's a maximum of 8 from the warning challenge? Hypered1 (talk) 00:15, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

No, we don't. There's a line in the code for the Lithophage Outbreak that says "MaxOccurences: 10", but that doesn't necessarily have any relation to challenges or scrip. ArsonCat (talk) 19:54, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
If this Steam discussion is anything to go by, that 'MaxOccurences' line may well relate to the scrip allocated to the challenge: https://steamcommunity.com/app/548430/discussions/1/5294572213361004035/ . I'm also keeping a personal tally of how many scrip I've gotten from it myself although I'm currently only on 5 at the moment. Hypered1 (talk) 23:38, 10 November 2022 (UTC)
A GSG employee has just confirmed that there was indeed a bug in that same steam discussion. 3 more lithophage outbreak Scrip rewards will be added in a patch later, for a total of 13. https://steamcommunity.com/app/548430/discussions/1/5294572213361004035/?ctp=5#c5294572213378373418. List of rewards by level

I've noticed that we list the total amount of rewards awarded for completing the Performance Pass (eg. 16 Headwears, 4 Beards, etc), but I'm wondering if each respective season should have a table showing the exact rewards, sorted by level. Given the relative completeness of similar lists on the wiki (Accessory Shop, Overclocks), is there any policy or reason explaining why we haven't made such a list yet?

I can imagine that the current Performance Pass is easy to get an overview of, simply log into the game and check. And the older Performance Passes doesn't really exist anymore, those rewards are transferred over to the loot pools in other game mechanics. But still, for the sake of history, I'm going to begin work on such a list once I've managed to find a page listing the rewards for season 1 and 2.

Such a table could get a bit bulky and confusing as more seasons release but if it helps there are some videos on Youtube that show the previous season's reward tracks. --Hypered1 (talk) 19:35, 8 November 2022 (UTC)

Season 3 cosmetic tree

I've uploaded a new version of of the S3 cosmetic tree with everything unlocked (to match those of seasons 1 and 2) but I can't seem to get it to update on the performance pass page? Hypered1 (talk) 00:40, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

Thank you to whomever fixed this (unless it somehow fixed itself?). I have no idea what I was doing wrong. Hypered1 (talk) 11:54, 25 December 2022 (UTC)
