Vanguard Contracts are a special type of dive that players can undertake in the game. Vanguard Contracts consist of daily missions which contain randomly assigned Mutators, having 1 beneficial and 2 negative. They can be unlocked after the player completes a dive on Hazard 3, and can be played up to Hazard 5.

Restrictions

Vanguard Contracts can contain certain restrictions. Some restrictions include:

  • Class and Class Mod
    • For example, start as Demolitionist Engineer.
  • Biome
    • For example, Magma Core.
  • Starter weapon
    • For example, start with the Firefly Hunter Drone.
  • Equippable weapons
  • Unequippable weapons
  • Amount of weapons
    • For example, can equip up to 6 weapons.
  • Early weapon unlock
    • For example, you unlock weapons faster.
  • Available artifacts
    • For example, start with BLT Ration Pack.
  • Unavailable artifacts
    • For example, cannot obtain Ammo Rig.

Completion

Every Vanguard Contract resets daily, with a live timer displaying the time remaining before reset. When completing a Vanguard Contract, the player is rewarded with Survivor Icon XP Gain.png +200% Rank XP and Survivor Upgrades icon.png Credits as a First Win Bonus. This means that they will only receive this reward when completing it for the first time, and any further completions of the current Vanguard Contract will not provide the same reward.

Additionally, the player is guaranteed to receive an Epic piece of Gear when defeating the boss.

Trivia

The first completion of a Vanguard Contract will grant you a guaranteed Epic piece of Gear. Since the Gear is dropped on boss death, it's possible to collect the piece of Gear, end the run by taking too much damage, and restart the dive for another piece of Gear of guaranteed quality.
