There are currently 5 biomes available in DRG Survivor: Crystalline Caverns, Magma Core, Hollow Boughs, Salt Pits, and Azure Weald. Each biome has 5 different hazard levels that must be unlocked with biome points. These can be earned by completing the unique challenges that are shown when choosing the hazard level.
Crystalline Caverns

Magma Core

Magma Core is a step up in difficulty from the Crystalline Caverns. It features dark rocky mineable terrain, lava vents, and exploding plants. Cracked ground and terrain with exposed lava deals damage to miners who come into contact. Exploding plants trigger when the player comes too close.
Enemies have 5% more HP and deal 5% more damage.

Hollow Bough

A strange maze of regrowing vines and thorns that is a challenge to navigate for even the most experienced graybeards. If you want to make it to extraction you'd best keep digging.

The Hollow Bough introduces another new mechanic for a new challenge. It features green mineable terrain, thin brown vines, and thick red vines. The brown vines are regenerating vines, meaning they will reappear a short time after mining. This is important for the Hazard 1 challenge shown below. The thick red vines are able to be mined but will damage the player if they contact them and will also regenerate after a short time.
Enemies have 10% more HP and deal 10% more damage.

Salt Pits

The Salt Pits feature white rocky terrain on a red dirt background. Most of the terrain in the Salt Pits is easier to mine compared to the stone in other biomes, except for dark gray strips which have a normal break speed. A new mechanic is added with this biome. Players will come across large red pulsating crystal clusters in the ground that, upon mining, will collapse several unstable stalactites from the ceiling that can kill monsters.
Enemies have 15% more HP and deal 15% more damage.

Azure Weald

Filled with brilliant bioluminescent light, the Weald can seem almost peaceful at times. However, to the greybeard it's clear that the law of the jungle still applies here. When the glyphids finally arrive, they are as fierce as ever.

|
The Azure Weald is a wet and lush area featuring trees, jump pads and healing crystals. Walking across a jump pad launches a dwarf high in the air, and when they crash back down they destroy terrain under them, push bugs away, and are granted a haste boost for a few seconds. There is no Red Sugar; instead, circles of crystalline columns offer healing over time when the player (and any creature) comes near.
Several new species of glyphid occur here, including Wardens, Mini Exploders (who replace Exploders) and Big Praetorians. Enemy spawn rates differ; instead of a steady background trickle of bugs, Azure Weald will have periods of relative quiet followed by heavy spawn rates. Enemies have [?]% more HP and deal [?]% more damage.
