A mobile and aggressive stage of the Rockpox. Upon hatching, Plague Larva seek out a potential victim and infect them. This causes rapid and irreversible physiological changes, resulting in the Infeced Glyphids we have been spotting in the caves. Luckily at the moment, the Larvae seem incapable of infecting Dwarves - nevertheless, contact should be avoided, as we still know so little about this new life form.
— Miner's Manual Description

The Rockpox Larvae is a hostile Rockpox creature that only spawns around Contagion Spikes. They are often seen emerging out of infected Rockpox terrain when a contagion spike is disturbed and attempts are made to clean up the Rockpox by Dwarves.

Rockpox Larvae appear as oblong shaped clumps of organic Lithophage matter that is able to stretch and bend as they erratically move around. It is theorized that they are a primary contaminator in spreading the Lithophage infection to creatures of Hoxxes, first seen with infected Grunts and Praetorians.

Combat

Acting very similar to Carnivorous Larva, they will aggressively jump around and launch themselves at nearby Dwarves in an attempt to attack.
