Ossuary Depths

Hoxxes was around a long time before DRG came drilling. The Ossuary Depths make that abundantly clear. Bones from all over the planet end up here, somehow, as if put on display. A warning, perhaps, orchestrated by the region's local predators, the Ossirans. Don't think of the place as a graveyard, but a museum. And try not to join the collection while you're there.
— Ingame description

Ossuary Depths is one of the biomes of Hoxxes IV. It is a seemingly sandy-looking biome, similar in texture to the Sandblasted Corridors but instead of being more open and flat, it is more of a fluctuating terrain, being flat and open most times to having an incline, to a sudden climb in height. Along most walls in the Ossuary Depths are small natural rock platforms, making it easier to clamber and climb upward. The caves are filled with piles of bones and fossilized remains of gigantic xenoforms. The rock making up the caves is durable, taking two hits for it to give way.

Hazards

The chief hazards of the Ossuary Depths are the Ossiran Scrabs and Ossiran Pit Jaws. While these enemies can be encountered in any biome with either the Scrab Nesting Grounds or Pit Jaw Colony warnings, respectively, they are naturally spawning in the Ossuary Depths.

The biome is generally covered with small bone piles on the ground. Take caution when treading around these bone piles, as Pit Jaws can spawn nearby and are relatively hard to see unless you are actively looking for them on the ground.

Along with the Pit Jaws, Scrab nests similar to the ones that spawn in the lairs of Ossiran Bone Collectors will spawn on the walls and ground. Scrabs can also spawn naturally, usually in groups of 3 to 5, or as part of a swarm.

In addition to the enemies, cobwebs are another hazard found in the biome. They are intangible, but slow speed and impair vision for several seconds when passed though.

Enemies

Most enemies can be encountered in the Ossuary Depths, including Spitball Infectors, Cave Leeches, and Glyphid Dreadnoughts.

The Ossiran Scrabs and Pit Jaws are unique to this biome.

Features

Bone piles and enormous bone structures are everywhere in the Ossuary Depths. Large stalactites, stalagmites and columns are common. Most of the walls are lined with small, natural rock platforms, which make it relatively easy to climb up and ascend.
