Glyphid Egg
The Glyphid Egg is a Secondary Objective found in all mission types, and all biomes excluding the Fungus Bogs, Azure Weald and Dense Biozone. 40 must be destroyed in order to complete the objective.
Completing the objective gives 700

, which are both affected by Hazard Bonus.
Appearance
Glyphid Eggs look similar to Dreadnought Cocoons found in Elimination missions, albeit with a pale brown coloration, and significantly smaller. There are two varieties, one with smooth shells, and one with veiny shells, both functioning the same. Glyphid Eggs faintly glow in the dark.
Glyphid Eggs are nearly identical to their wild counterparts that can spawn in Fungus Bogs and Dense Biozone, though a bit smaller, and without the ability to burst nearby eggs when broken.
Locations & Exterminating
Glyphid Eggs can be found on the floor of any mission with the "Exterminate Glyphid Eggs" Secondary Objective. They tend to spawn in groups alongside other eggs, but it is not uncommon to find lone Glyphid Eggs occasionally. When one is popped, some number of Glyphid Swarmers are spawned depending on the Hazard and player count. One in Hazard 1 through 5, and multiple in Hazard 5+ with More Enemies or when there are four players in Hazard 5. Killing the swarmers are not required for the objective.
Glyphid Eggs have 20 health points, meaning all weapons can easily break them, and the pickaxe can break the egg in a single hit.
Trivia
- Prior to September 19, 2024 this secondary objective could spawn in Dense Biozone. It was removed specifically from Dense Biozone because that biome can already contain Glyphid eggs as part of its environmental hazards, and destroying those whould count for the objective, which was unintended behavior.[1]
